Be Prepared for ILD! Attend the Strategy Session and Dinner!

Join other library advocates from around the state for the popular Illinois Library Day Strategy Session & Dinner on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at the Northfield Inn, Suites & Conference Center in Springfield. Kip Kolkmeier (pictured right), legislative consultant for the Illinois Library Association, will be on hand to share the latest information on pending legislation, discuss strategy, and answer any questions.

The cost for dinner is $35, payable in advance to the DuPage Library System. Due to contractual obligations, no registrations will be accepted after April 10, 2009 and cancellations will be honored no later than April 13, 2009.

Rooms Available at Northfield Inn for Illinois Library Day

Bus riders and those coming down on Wednesday, April 22, for Illinois Library Day will need to reserve a hotel room in Springfield. This year, DLS has reserved a limited number of hotel rooms at the Northfield Inn, Suites & Conference Center.

To reserve your room, visit the Library Learning website, L2. Hotel rooms are available by clicking on the room choice at the Northfield Inn and then filling out the information requested and submitting it. There are double rooms and single rooms with King beds available. The room costs are listed below. Make your reservation as soon as possible, as rooms are limited and Springfield hotels fill up fast.

    * Single Rooms (king bed) -- $73.00 plus tax
    * Double Rooms (two beds) -- $73.00 plus tax

Payment for room and incidentals is your responsibility. If you have a room booked and need to cancel it, contact the hotel directly after April 8, 2009.

The new year has begun, the new General Assembly has begun its work, and Illinois Library Day (ILD) has been announced!

Join your colleagues in Springfield on Thursday, April 23, to talk to your legislators and show your support for libraries! Everyone needs to have their voice be heard in Springfield this year.
