Web Content Assistant

(Part time) The Villa Park Public Library.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the library’s web and social networking presence. Performs work related to the operation of the library’s automation equipment. Reference Librarian

(Part time) University of St. Francis, Joliet, IL. Up to 20 hours per week. Flexible scheduling.

Position Summary: Provides assistance in technical services, such as maintaining current holdings records in the catalog for periodicals. Provides assistance and instruction to patrons regarding the use of the library’s print and electronic resources. Acts as a liaison for the university and the library with local and distance students and staff, as well as community patrons. Assists in maintaining the functioning of the library through a variety of tasks such as development of materials to assist with organization and dissemination of information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Circulation/Technical Services Department Head

(Full time) Bloomingdale Public Library is seeking motivated candidates interested in leading its combined Circulation/Technical Services Department. The library serves a population of 22,854 with an overall operation budget of $2.6 million. Duties include supervising a staff of 21 (full time equivalents), managing all aspects of programs and services in this department, and staff training.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires expertise typically acquired through completion of a MLS program from an ALA accredited school. Minimum five years related circulation/technical services experience in a comparable business, organization, or library including one year of supervisory experience required. Knowledge of library computer systems and processes including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Knowledge of SIRSI ILS desirable. Knowledge of reference techniques and automated information retrieval. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws that impact library operations. Knowledge of AARC2, MARC, LDDM, and DDC. Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Minimum salary is $46,815 (depending on qualifications), plus benefits.
