(Full time) The Charleston Carnegie Public Library Board, in Charleston, IL, is seeking a creative and dynamic leader to become the next director, upon the current director's retirement. The successful candidate will plan, direct, and coordinate all library activities and should possess a positive, achievement-oriented attitude. Prefer someone with excellent leadership and communications skills, a compelling vision for the library, innovative approaches to organizing and problem solving, strong skills in fostering community relations, knowledge of library trends and technology, willingness to help manage a new facility, and the ability to build a team environment.
Information: Located in Charleston, IL, a community near Champaign, Decatur, and Terre Haute; home of Eastern Illinois University; serves population of 21,000; new 29,000 square foot facility, the pride of the community; collection of 65,000; supported by an annual budget of $850,000 to $900,000; staff of 12 experienced employees with a strong commitment to service; overseen and assisted by a board of nine dedicated citizens.
